OBO systems ensure safe cable routing and function maintenance in case of fire
The opening of the Swisspor Arena in Lucerne in the summer of 2011 saw the start of a new footballing era. In the modern stadium, up to 18,000 spectators can cheer on the local football team at each game. During concerts, the arena can fulfil the highest comfort and safety requirements and offer first-class catering. Behind the scenes, OBO systems make a key contribution – from cable management through to function maintenance.
The challenges in the Swisspor Arena included the safe routing of large quantities of cables. For this, around two kilometres of RKS-Magic cable trays were routed under the stands. As the stand elements move by about two centimetres when under heavy loads, the installation engineers had to mount the sections on the floor under complex space and substrate conditions. The wealth of OBO accessories offered the right solution for each application. Some 800 metres of infrastructure routes for lighting and sound were fitted to the roof structure. Creativity was also required as, for the installation of the RKS-Magic®, the installation engineers had to bridge a gap of three metres using US5 profiles. In areas, in which it is essential to offer the best-possible protection to large groups of people in dangerous situations, cable systems with function maintenance according to DIN 4102-12 were used.
With its complementary systems, OBO was able to satisfy Stadion Luzern AG fully and completely. The refined OBO logistics ensured reliable compliance with the ambitious deadlines, thanks to rapid reaction to the requirements of the operator and the executive working group of local installation companies.
